Don Fabio

Fabio Capello formally appointed as England Head Manager on 14 December 2007 after signing a 4 years and half contract, and his first match was a friendly against Switzerland (England won 2-1). After less than two years from his appointing date things looks positive for the Three Lions as they almost forget Steve McClaren woful era which ended with failure to qualify to Euro 2008 finals.

Fabio Capello managed England in 18 games (8 official and the other ten games were friendlies) the outcome was impressive (Wins: 14 :: Draws: 2 :: Loses: 2) (scoring 48 goals and conceding 15). Below the complete record for Fabio Capello with England after the highly anticipated game against Croatia yesterday at Wembley whicn England trash sorry Croatia 5-1 (what a revenge !!)

After Croatia game England qualified to the World Cup 2010 finals  making an impressive 8 straight wins to be one of best qualifying performances for England national team.

Points Capello should address for the World Cup 2010 in South Africa:

  • the Goalkeeper position, tell now Capello didn’t decide who is his number one goalkeeper (David James – Ben Foster – Robert Green – Paul Robinson). James almost 40 while Green and Foster still not give the impression they are ready for this task meanwhile Robinson still out from the England squad since his mistake against Croatia in Euro 2008 qualifiers.
  • Who will be Wayne Rooney partner, Capello still use Heskey despite his form drop with Aston Villa although Capello has three options: Crouch – Carlton Cole – Defoe
  • The best midfield combination, Capello looks comfortable with Gerrard – Lampard – Barry with a winger (Young – Wright-Philips – Milner) and I’m really like the young man Milner and impressed with his form with Aston Villa and England U-21 team.
