Terry's stay is grreat news for Carleto

Carlo Ancelotti focus is a weekly post all about Ancelotti’s latest news, results, and press review……

So Chelsea won the 2009 World Football Challenge trophy during their preseason preparation in US, beating AC Milan, Inter Milan (yes he beat Mourinho), and Club America (Mexican football team). Also Carleto English handling is improving and if you recognized Ancelotti’s recent press conferences as a Chelsea Manager were combined with humor and laugh.

We can also seeing a great degree of confidence Ancelotti have especially not making Mourinho legacy hunting him, not forgetting that the language barrier is not holding him back.

Tactically speaking, Ancelotti not going to apply the one striker choice (4-3-3) preferring to adopt two strikers (4-4-2 diamond shape), the addition of the “Russian RonaldinhoYuri Zhirkov on the left flank give Ancelotti more wide options to use. The Italian tactician hinted that the Nigerian John Mikel Obi will be the play-maker, could be a clue that Mikel will be used as deep laying play-maker like Pirlo’s position in AC Milan which was architect by Ancelotti.

Also we can observe a change of Chelsea playing style during the American preseason matches: more possession for the ball, more ball retaining in the midfield, and more passing game comparing with Chelsea days of direct ball play, counter attack approach, and long ball switching.

Chelsea Transfer activity so far…

The Blues added three new players: Sturridge, Ross Turnbull, and Yuri Zhirkov while Andriy Shevchenko and Claudio Pizarro are back from long loan season. Possible new arrivals still existed and could be a “marquee signing” the potential targets could be: Villa and Ribery even so the french winger look way far from joining Chelsea knowing that he plotting a switch to Real Madrid despite Bayern Munich refusal.

Deco, and Carvalho could be nearing the exit door alongside Shevchenko and Pizrro. Chelsea and Ancelotti succeeded in keeping Mr.Chelsea (John Terry) after a month of speculations about his future as Manchester City wanted to lure him to the Eastlands finally Terry speaks about his intention to stay with Chelsea. Retaining Terry at Chelsea could be their best transfer activity after all.

Now I will let you with Ancelotti’s main quotes of this week:

I would like to play with two strikers because we can put more zonal pressing. I want to follow this way

John Terry is the symbol of this team, he will be captain. He wants to stay at Chelsea forever and we want to keep him forever. There is a question of Manchester City but for Terry there is no price

Zhirkov is naturally on the left. I think he can do all the work and can play in defence and in between

John Terry, I repeat, is the captain of this team and he will be the symbol of this club and this team for many years. It’s not been a problem in these last few days. He will be the captain of Chelsea in the future

For me discipline is another thing. I have my rules and I will enforce them. But I want to respect the players and I want to earn respect from them. So if they want to call me Carlo then it is no problem

I speak English all day and every day. Now it is better, but the problem is that I know what I say but I don’t always know if the player understands what I say
