save Getafe from relegation

Getafe C.F and Michel agreed on 2 years contract after the legendary Real Madrid winger save them from relegation, Michel appointed as caretaker in the last 5 La Liga games after Getafe sacked Víctor Muñoz for bad results. since that Michel was able to gain 8 points out of 15 points (2 win – 2 draws – 1 lost) to seat 17th in the La Liga table avoiding relegation only on goal difference from Real Betis.

Michel before coached Rayo Vallecano in the Segunda Division and Real Madrid Castilla in the Segunda Division too later to be appointed as coordinator of the Real Madrid youth system. which he quit December 2008 after disagreement with Calderon and Mijatovic:

  • 2007/2008 with 47 pts
  • 2006/2007 with 52 pts
  • 2005/2006 with 54 pts
  • 2004/2005 with 47 pts

Getafe president Angel Torres (Real Madrid card holder and big fan) used to hire young coaches like: Quique Flores (keep them in the La Liga), Bernd Schuster (guide them toward Copa del Rey final), and Michael Laudrup (led Getafe to Uefa Cup quarter finals to eliminated by heavy weight club Bayern Munich) until this season when he choose the experienced Víctor Muñoz who eventually didn’t enjoy popularity among Getafe fans.
