As the Portuguese Liga Sagres season ends with FC Porto remain the Champion, while Benfica ended the season 3rd many speculate that Quique Flores days are numberd with Lisbon club, but Benfica came clear announcing that the Spanish tactician will honor his contract with Benfica (His contract runs in 2010).

The official statement by the club assured that they had no intention to part company with Flores and the preparing for the next season is already under going.

Quique Flores (age 44) former Valencia, Real Madrid, and Real Zaragoza player. He started his coaching career with Getafe (2004-05) season then Valencia (2005-2007) as he fired by Valencia board October 29, 2007 after sequence of bad results. On May 24, 2008 apponited as Benfica coach.

In his first season he guide Benfica to 3rd place in the league (59 pts), while in the Cup they get eliminated in the 5th round by Leixoes. Many of his players like Petit support Quique stay with The Eagles.
